How this 30-day Psalms plan works
Dividing 150 Psalms across 30 days gives an average of five Psalms per day, but equal chapter counts would create very unequal readings. Psalm 119 alone is much longer than many groups of shorter Psalms.
This schedule balances the readings by length and keeps whole Psalms together when practical. Occasionally a long Psalm is divided to keep the daily pace reasonable.
Reading Psalms as prayer
The Psalms give words for praise, grief, gratitude, fear, confession, and hope. Read slowly enough to notice which words reflect your own prayers.
You may want to choose one line from each day's reading to carry with you, pray again, or write down.
For a month focused on practical wisdom, follow Psalms with Proverbs in 31 Days.
Questions about this reading plan
How can I read all 150 Psalms in 30 days?
Read the assigned portion each day. The average is five Psalms daily, but this plan adjusts for length so that Psalm 119 and other long readings remain manageable.
Should I read Psalms every day?
Many Christians return to the Psalms daily because they provide a rich vocabulary for prayer. A 30-day plan is one useful rhythm, not a rule.
What if I miss a day?
Continue with the next unread portion. You can combine shorter readings later or let the plan take longer than a calendar month.
